EQPAY FINANCE LIMITED ("EQPay", "we") is a company registered in Uganda, registration no. 80034970913243. This policy explains what personal data we handle when businesses use our collections and payouts services, and how we protect it. We process personal data in line with the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.

Data we collect

• Business customers: company details, and the names, contact details and identity documents of directors, owners and authorised users.
• Payers and payout recipients: mobile money number, registered account name, transaction amount, reference and time.
• People who contact us: the name, business details, contact details and message you send through our enquiry form, used to respond to you.
• Website and dashboard use: technical information such as IP address and browser type, used for security.

How we use it

• To process payments and payouts and settle funds to our business customers.
• To verify the businesses and people we work with and meet our anti-money laundering obligations.
• To detect and prevent fraud and unauthorised access.
• To provide support and keep accurate records.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use payer or recipient data for marketing.

Who we share it with

We share data only as needed to provide the service: with mobile network operators and banks to complete transactions, with the business you are paying or being paid by, with service providers who help us run our platform under confidentiality obligations, and with regulators or authorities where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep transaction and verification records for as long as the law requires, and other data only as long as needed for the purposes above.

How we protect it

Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to staff who need it, and dashboard sign-in uses two-factor authentication.
